The national park entrance fee

Every visitor to Coiba National Park pays an entrance fee per person, separate from the tour price: $20 for foreign visitors and $10 for Panamanians. It is paid on the day of the tour, so bring cash. On a private whale-watching trip that doesn't land in the park, there is no entrance fee.

Example budgets

• A couple of foreign visitors on the shared tour: 2 × $75 + 2 × $20 = $190.
• A Panamanian family of four on the shared tour: 4 × $75 + 4 × $10 = $340.
• Six friends from abroad on a private boat: $600 + 6 × $20 = $720, or $120 per person.
• Ten people on a private boat: the $700 boat works out at $70 per person, less than the shared tour. Add the park entrance per person.

Shared or private?

For one to four people, the shared tour is the most affordable way to see Coiba. For bigger groups, do the math: with 9 people a private boat costs about $78 per person and with 10 people $70, and the whole day is planned around your group.

Payment and cancellation

We accept cash, bank transfers and online payments by credit card or PayPal. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the tour, and if the sea isn't safe we reschedule your trip.
